50,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points when you apply for AMEX Platinum Charge Card ($475 annual fee)

This offer is for AMEX Platinum card co-branded cards with Mercedes Benz. Obviously, it would be of special interest if you already own a Mercedes or are looking to own one. However, you are not restricted in any way in getting the bonus points or all other AMEX platinum benefits. So, this card will give you 50,000 AMEX Membership Rewards points by signing up and spending $1,000 within three months. This is the most that is publicly available presently. An advantage of getting this card would be that you may still eligible for the sign-up bonus on the regular AMEX platinum card when a good offer comes by.

This is a high-end card with a high annual fee of $475 (sorry, no first year waiver either). So this card may not work for everyone but the bonus miles plus the other benefits may be attractive to a lot of folks like me. One benefit in particular that is exceptional is the Airport Lounge Benefit. This card will get you in to Lounges at most Airports across the world. The combination of displaying this Platinum card and the included free Priority Pass membership should get you well covered.

You need to request your free Priority Pass membership by logging on to this American Express webpage.

I have had this card in the past when I got a cool 75,000 bonus sign-up (targeted). It has worked out well for me till date.

Interesting uses of AMEX MR points in this post.

Would one be eligible for this bonus if they got in on the original AMEX platinum bonanza for 100K earlier this summer, since this is a Mercedes co-branded card? If eligible, I feel that 50K for another 475 may be worthwhile…

    • AwardGuru says:

Yes, you should be eligible for the 50K bonus from this card as it is a co-branded platinum card (a different flavor of the card). Please note that the terms and conditions are a bit ambiguous. However, if you call AMEX, the reps will say that you are eligible for the bonus from this card even if you have already been awarded the bonus from regular Platinum AMEX card.
